What is Naturopathy?

Naturopaths believe that the reason some people get sick when faced with a pathogen and some people do not is rooted in the concept of susceptibility.  If an individual is susceptible to a specific disease, he or she may fall ill.  If an individual is not susceptible, he or she will remain healthy.  Disease is not caused by a pathogen, but rather by the body’s ability or inability to deal with a pathogen effectively.  Most naturopaths believe that the body possesses the innate ability to heal itself.  This ability is strengthened or weakened by environment, lifestyle, nutrition, and stress management choices.  While there are many different types of “naturopaths” and many different levels of naturopathic training, there are two main groups of naturopaths that use the initials “ND”.

Traditional Naturopaths (N.D.) are trained in the use of “nature” for the promotion of wellness and the cure of disease.  This type of naturopath educates clients in the utilization of pure food, pure water, healthy lifestyle choices, appropriate nutrition, and natural remedies for the benefit of health and wellness. Traditional naturopaths may recommend homeopathic remedies, vitamins, minerals, or herbs to support your body during your path towards wellness..

Naturopathic physicians (N.D. or N.M.D.) practice a hybrid form of healthcare that incorporates naturopathic modalities, pharmacological medications, and minor surgery.

Jennette Cable practices as a Certified Traditional Naturopath who provides education on how to effectively use God’s gifts of pure water, pure air, quality nutrition, color, light, music and natural remedies to promote individual health and wellness, thereby lessening the susceptibility to disease.
